8 months

I can not believe my beloved drooling pooper is 8 months old already.
I can not.

What I do believe is this:

I am totally in fricken' love with her!

At 8 months, Ruby has developed a repertoire of mad baby skills.
Including, but not limited to:

-saying dada, mumum, dg. I do think she knows dg means Dog. The other two are probably just heart warming coincidences.
- sitting up and playing with both hands
-banging things together
-rocking on hands and knees
-dragging herself forward
-inch worming backwards
-butt scoothching
-the infamous 360 degree belly spin
-lunging with wild abandon for desired goods
-fussing when she can't have said desired goods
-shoving everything, including fist fulls of dog fur, in to her mouth.
- making all sorts of neat mouth noises: Zurberts, Razzes, clicking, trumpets
-yelling
-smiling, laughing, chatting and loving
-making human shaped poops
-drooling
-feeding her self finger food.
-making crude attempts at the sign for "More" to indicate the need for more food
-sprouting a tooth that she uses for eating food
-using a spoon to eat her own food
-did I mention eating food?
-"dancing" to music
-"singing" along when her Dad plays guitar.
-attempted waves and high fives
-stand/bouncing with support
-looking for objects, people, sounds
-peek a boo and anticipation of favourite actions with baby songs

Whew, that seems like a lot and my mind is racing thinking of all of the wonder and joy this little girl brings into our lives.

As a new mom, I think I am doing pretty good. My skills are developing too.
I have been cursed with a case of the, all too common, new mom insomnia. But apart from that, I am in an awesome head space. I am enjoying my year off of work more than I could have ever imagined and my anxious perseverating self has started, just a little, to fret about going back. But I am not allowing myself to let it consume me. It's too soon. I am having too much fun.

And, I do have a very ego-centric, vanity inspired, post brewing in my mind...

But that too, will have to wait for another day.

Today it's sunny out and it's time to play.

Absolutely gorgeous and what a great list of baby accomplishments! I love it when they love to eat. Our daughter always did.
