She is not happy about being hot. She does not like cool baths and the cold compresses aren't winning any popularity contests either...
Side note:
Question: How fun is wearing a pad 24/7 in the heat?
Answer: Wicked awesome fun! Woot! I feel ever so fresh and sexy.
Any hoo...
The good news is that although she is ornery right now, (No, I am not ignoring her, it's the Hubster's turn) and on most evenings from 6 to midnight-ish... she has blessed us with a couple of long night time sleeps. In the last few nights she has slept bouts of 4 1/2, 5 and once even 6 hours! I know, right?
I am trying not to get my hopes up about this sleeping business, but it has been a nice treat.
Other great news:
1)It seems fur baby number one loves human baby number one as much as we do. No, this picture was not a set up. And, what's even cuter...After Stanley went about licking her hands, we asked him if he loves baby Ruby and he started wagging his tail. Awwww...
So, all is well here with our little family. Our 4 week check up with the midwife is on Tuesday. I can't believe how fast time is flying.
I am savoring every moment.
Yes, even the hot, ornery ones.
Ruby~ 3 weeks. Just in case you were wondering...this photo of a super bundled up baby was not taken on a hot day. Dang BC weather! You were probably thinking, "No wonder she's pissed, Lisa, ya moron...Look at the freakin' parka you have her in!"

You continue to tickle my funny bone. Thanks for the laugh before bed and awesome to see you tonight!
Hahaha.....I loveLOVElove that shot of your dog and babe. It's so great. I hope our little furbaby loves our not-so-furry baby (fingers crossed on that one!) just as much.
I'm sorry it's so hot- poor munchkin. :(
Love the pic with Stanley! So cute. Hope it cools off for ya!
She is too cute! My baby LOVES to be all bundled up and HOT .. it worried me at first.
I hope you get a cool breeze or some relief soon. Congrats on the long spouts of sleep
Look at that tummy! The nice thing about hot weather is that you get lots of soft skin contact. It's just not the same when your baby is born in the winter.
Awwww...poor you guys...it's no fun being hot, especially when you're that little.
aside: I gave up on the pad as soon as functionally possible...and started using cloth...so much more comfortable and less irritating.
Congrats on the sleep too, we're still estatic when we get three hours over here...more often it's 1 1/2 or 2 hours, and we couldn't be happier (thank goodness for maternity leave).
Yep those pads are GROSS for that fun postpartum period. I couldn't wait to be done with them...and maybe TMI but I had over 5 weeks of THAT fun:(
Ruby's adorable. Poor little tamale! You're very lucky about Stanley...what about furbaby #2?
Love the furbaby-humanbaby bonding! So cute!
We've been lucky not to have terribly hot weather EVER, so The Prawn has only even been in shorts a handful of times!
Hope you guys can keep cool!
